How to Get Legal Help During the COVID-19 Outbreak
with Patricia Candamo
These are challenging times for everyone.A lack of testing makes it close to impossible to accurately estimate how many people in Florida might become infected from COVID-19. To put it simply, there isn’t enough data to make a solid prediction of how many people might eventually contract the Coronavirus. Uncertainty causes distress and panic, and that’s the main reason why the country is so worried.
In Florida, the legal system is close to a grinding halt. The Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) declared a public health emergency on January 31, 2020. This fact, together with reduced bandwidth and availability of personnel in the Federal Government, along with State and local governments, are greatly impacting the ability of the court system to manage day-to-day operations. Clearly, if you are in need of consultation with an attorney for an important matter, sometimes you can’t wait.
Candamo Law is a modern firm that relies on cutting edge technology in order to better serve our clients. The biggest impact to our firm has been that most individuals and businesses can’t meet (and shouldn't in most cases) in person. However, with our usage of tele-communication and conferencing tools, we can meet with clients on a daily basis not only in the Tampa Bay area, but anywhere in the State.
We recommend those that are in a pressing need, to look for counsel from attorneys that have the ability to service your immediate needs safely, and for now, that’s remotely. There will be a time in the near future when you can go and meet with the attorney in person at their offices.
On a more personal note, please make sure you take care of yourself. At all times, obey the government agency’s recommendations to protect not only yourself but those around you.
